On 11 March 2019, the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints promised a quick response to COVID-19. Correspondingly, they released a letter to the world today detailing prevention measures. Admittedly, the measures depend entirely on the willingness of the members to obey. In this situation, I don’t see that becoming a problem.
Effective immediately, the Church of Jesus Christ temporarily suspends all gatherings. This effects Stake conferences, leadership training, public worship services, and all local activities.
Even though this might sound drastic, the First Presidency already planned a way to keep moving forward. In Semi-annual General Conference of April 2018, President Nelson announced the Ministering Program. Over the course of the following year, the program fleshed itself out. The leaders around the world began watching over the Saints, and their surrounding communities, more efficiently.
Now, almost two years later, the ministering program has become a powerful influence for good around the world.
