Developing fitness goals for yourself means you know what you want at the end. You can usually pick someone to model and figure out a plan from there.
My Personal Fitness Goals
I want an hourglass figure. Knowing that, I simply take where I am, and compare it to what I want. Today, I have a straight figure with my personal measurements at 42-35-42. At over six feet tall, that basically looks like a box. In order to get an hourglass figure, I must have a minimum of nine inches difference between my bust/hips, and my waist.
Option A: Enlarging My Hips And Bust
To make my hips and bust broader, I can do a number of callisthenic exercises. By focusing on them, I would only have to keep up my waistline until I measured 44-35-44. Ideally, that would look great, since I stand at 75″ tall. The exercises would look like:
- Shoulder Press
- Dumbbell Side Lateral Raise
The benefits of this method would definitely include amazing looking legs. You can also enjoy the fact that your upper body will get a lot stronger! Unfortunately, this also means that my already struggling breasts will get a lot of work. Those may get perky, or they might constrict against my chest, making them look smaller.
Option B: Tightening my waist
By tightening my waist to size 33, or smaller, I can also create the same effect. Unfortunately, that would look a little disproportionate with my already super tall stature. Scientifically, wider hips and chests look more attractive. But for the sake of doing this, the plan to shrink my waist would look a lot like this:
- 100 meter sprint
- Scissor Kicks
- Reverse Crunches
I would do 100 repetitions of each in sets of 25 repetitions. This workout elevates your heart rate, and maintains it long enough that you might feel euphoric. Unfortunately, if you have a taller body, having a tiny waist does little for you, since most people tend to focus up.
Developing Fitness Goals
The best workout actually lays somewhere between options A and B. That, and eating a balanced diet that allows you to burn exactly what you need. Not only does healthy living help you look good, but it helps you feel better too.
